Alexander Umfleet is a media composer based in Los Angeles, California. Originally from North Carolina, he completed a master’s degree in film music composition from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts in 2019. Since then he has contributed music to the feature documentaries The Conqueror: Hollywood Fallout (2023) and Overland (2019), composed music for several short films, and worked alongside industry-leading composers including Hugo de Chaire, Heitor Pereira, and Megan Cavallari. Outside of film he is an active concert composer, having had his work performed by a variety of ensembles at home and abroad. Highlights include working with the Winston-Salem Symphony, the UNCSA Orchestra and Wind Ensemble, the Atlantic Music Festival, as well as recording with Eighth Blackbird.
